The tow package for the 2010 Nissan Armada includes a Class III 2 inch trailer hitch and according to Nissan, when towing more than 5,000 pounds a weight distribution system is recommended.
The most important factor to consider when choosing a weight distribution system is knowing the total tongue weight of your setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. The total tongue weight includes your trailer's tongue weight plus the weight of any cargo loaded in the back of your Armada behind the rear axle. The weight distribution systems that we carry will list a tongue weight range. You will want to choose a system that will be able to handle the total tongue weight of your setup.
Based on your dry trailer weight, I have two systems that I recommend. If you think the maximum total tongue weight of your setup will not be more than 1,200 pounds, I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution with Sway Control Trunnion # RP66560. This weight distribution system will efficiently help stop trailer sway. This system is quieter than other weight distribution systems that use chains. Installing this system does not require you to drill or bolt into your trailer because it uses brackets that fit around the trailer frame. This system is rated for total tongue weights between 600-1200 pounds.
If you think the maximum total tongue weight of your system will exceed 1,200 LBS, but will be no more than 1,400 pounds, I recommend this Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution with Sway Control Tunnion # RP66561. This weight distribution system uses the same technique to control sway, but is rated for total tongue weights between 700-1400 pounds.
I have attached two articles for you to review that cover weight distribution systems and how to determine the tongue weight of your trailer.
If you would like to send me the tongue weight of your trailer, then I can make a specific weight distribution system recommendation for you.
Both of these systems require a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank. I recommend the Curt 2 Inch Diameter Ball # A-90 or the Curt 2-5/16 Inch Diameter Ball # C40030, depending on which size your coupler requires.
