Ball Mount Recommendation for a Trailer that Needs a 1-1/4 Rise To Tow Level
Question:
I have done the math for choosing the proper hitch ball mount exactly as described in your doc and it comes out to a 1.25inch . Since I am in between, which mount do you suggest, a 2inch or a 1inch rise? I am towing a 3000lb. Trailer with a 2015 Toyota Tacoma V6 w/tow package and Im not sure how much the tongue will compress the bed of the truck, so I am concerned the 2inch is too much.

If you can get the ball mount within a 1/2 inch or so of what you would need to be perfectly level you would be just fine. Since you need 1-1/4 inches of rise to tow level a 2 inch rise would be perfect since there is bound to be a bit of rear suspension sag when you hitch up to your trailer.
For a ball mount then I would recommend the # C45230 and then for a hitch ball # 40038 for a 2 inch ball or part # C40007 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
I attached the help article you referenced on selecting the correct ball mount for you to check out as well.
