Recommended Weight Distribution for Camper w/ 600 lb Tongue Weight Pulled by Chevy Trailblazer
Question:
I am interested in this product but I have a question. My campers TW is around 425. With the added cargo in the back of our Trailblazer that figure goes to 550-600. This product is rated for 800-1000 TW. Is it still ok to use? Vehicle is a 2005 Chevy TB EXT. Trailer has GVWR of 3850 and TW of 425. Thank you!

Your trailer won't have enough tongue weight to get the spring bars of the Curt # C17062 Weight distribution system to flex, it'll make for a rough ride and the system won't distribute enough (if any) tongue weight to the front vehicle axle to level your ride height.
I'd recommend a lower rated system like the Pro Series # PS49582 which is rated for tongue weights ranging from 550 to 750 lbs. Ideally, you want the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer (including gear in cargo area behind rear vehicle axle) to fall near the center of the effective range of the w/d system you use. The # PS49582 comes pretty close to that mark.
The system I recommended includes the weight distributing shank and a 2-5/16 inch trailer ball. I've linked you to some FAQ articles about weight distribution that I hope you'll find helpful.
