For a brake controller, I'd recommend a proportional controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. Proportional controllers offer safe predictable braking and the P2 is extremely easy to set up and use. If your Tundra has the factory installed 7-way, you'll need the brake controller wiring adapter, part # 3040-P. If the truck has the 4-pole connector, you'll unplug the 4-pole and install # HM11143395. If it has no controller at all, you'd install the # HM11143395.

To choose a weight distribution system, you'll need to first determine the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer. To that figure, add the weight of any gear stowed in the cargo area of the SUV or truck bed behind the rear axle. I've linked to an FAQ article that explains how to do this. These combined figures comprise the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your set-up. The TTW of your trailer should fall as close as possible to the middle of the effective range of the weight distribution system you choose.

I really like the Reese Steadi-Flex systems that combine proven weight distribution performance with effective sway control. If the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer is between 600-1200 lbs, use # RP58393. For tongue weights ranging from 400-600 lbs, the # RP66558 would be recommended. If the tongue weight range is below 400 lbs, # 66557 would be the way to go. All three systems include the weight distributing shank, but the trailer ball is sold separately. For a 2 inch trailer ball, use part # A-90 or for a 2-5/16 inch ball, use # 19286.

The Pro Series Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control would be a less expensive option, but the sway control prevention offered wouldn't be quite as effective as what's offered with the Reese SC. If your trailer tongue weight is 750-1000 lbs, use # PS49903. For a 550-750 lb tongue weight, use # PS49582 or for a tongue weight less than 550 lbs, use # PS49901. These systems include the shank and a 2-5/16 inch ball.

I've linked you to some FAQ articles and install videos that I hope you'll find helpful.
