Red Light on Tekonsha Voyager only Comes on With Manual Slide Switch
Question:
Red light dose not come on when brakes are applied to my 2006 dodge ram sport 1500 with towing package . any ideas or tips. Brake controller works manually but not when brakes are applied

The red light indicates that the brake controller is sending full or close to full power. Depending on the power settings you have set on the brake controller, you may not see a red light when braking except when you use the manual switch.
Also, if the trailer is not hooked up or the truck is not moving when you press the pedal, you will probably not see the red light. The Voyager checks to make sure the trailer is there and since it is a proportional style controller, it will only send current when it detects your truck is decelerating.
It would also be worth checking to make sure the controller is angled properly. It can be anywhere from 20 degrees nose down to 70 degrees nose up. If it is outside of this range, the sensor will not be able to properly detect how hard or light you are braking.
I have included a link to a video of the Voyager being used and set up. It may be helpful to watch to see if you need to adjust anything.
