Can Winch Handle and Pinion Shaft/Bolt be Replaced on a Pontoon Boat Trailer

Question:

I broke the crank arm on my winchbroke the bolt , and I was wondering if I can change that out, or do I need to buy new winch. The winch seems to be welded to the trailer. I have 24ft pontoon boat. Thanks!

It is possible to repair the winch that you have. I would need to know the manufacturer and model of the winch though to determine the correct replacement parts if available.

If you have Dutton-Lainson winch # DL15440 the replacement handle is # DL70328. For the bolt you would need repair kit # DL70475.
