Fit of Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack on 2009 Volkswagen CC
Question:
I am considering a Rhino Rack aero roof rack system, for my 09 VW CC. My concern is, the CC has no door frame around the window, and the power windows automatically lower a bit when you open the door. They will also lower if they sense something is caught in them. Will the clamps for the roof rack cause issues with the windows not closing completely? Are there any other removable style roof racks that work better for this specific car? Thanks

I spoke with my Rhino Rack representative regarding your concerns. They've done fit testing with the VW CC, and have found that the clamps have no adverse effect on the window operation whatsoever. The clamps will actually fit between the rubber trim piece and the metal door jamb, so the glass will never touch the clamp, as you can see in the photo and diagrams I've provided from the instructions.
I'm told that Rhino Rack has not received any negative feedback about the fit of the clamp kit or of the clamp interfering with the operation of the window.\
All the roof racks we offer for your vehicle would install in essentially the same manner. The clamps that hold the rack to the roof would fit under the rubber trim, like the Rhino Rack clamps would.
