How to Determine the Correct Double Eye Leaf Springs For Replacement
Question:
For the leaf spring I am replacing, I measured the B dimension and it is 3-1/2 inch. The e46SR lists the dimension as 3 inches. Will this make a difference as I have not found another single leaf spring with the 3-1/2 inch dimension

When replacing the leaf springs on your trailer you will need to match all of the dimensions and the spring capacity as closely as possible to the original spring.
See the picture to the right for the locations of the measurements, (A) and (B) in the following paragraphs.
If your trailer has a axle capacity of 6,000 pounds and the center to center measurement of the spring eyes is 24-1/4 inches, and the measurement from the center of the spring to the center of the front spring eye is 12-5/8 inches then this spring should work for you. Once installed the height measurement (B) will most likely increase a bit when both spring eyes are bolted to the hangers and shackle straps.
Usually the measurement from eye to eye will lengthen (A) and the height measurement (B) will decrease with wear. At this time we do not carry any other slipper springs with one leaf. The number of leaves in a spring pack does not have to remain the same as long as the weight capacity is inline with the trailer and axle rating and the measurements match the existing spring hardware. It is recommended that leaf springs be replaced in pairs to ensure a balanced load on the trailer when towing.
