Best Way to Transport a Vehicle to a Dragstrip
Question:
Hello, I am using hitch #bx4325 w/bx88296 adapters.Im new to towing cars.I have a 2005 Dodge Ram SRT10 towing my 1964 Ford Fairlane to the drag strip about 10 miles away.See anything wrong with this combination?How about the need to back up,will I break the hitch?Appreciate input,

If at all possible your best option would be to use a trailer to transport your 1964 Ford Fairlane to the drag strip. We have no information on flat towing your Fairline, but instead of the # BX88296 adapters I would recommend the # BX88230 as a base plate kit adapter since it is more designed for what you are trying to do.
The # BX88296 is more for vehicles with off-road bumpers.
You can't back up at all when you are flat towing. Another reason a trailer might be your best option. You also will need to check to see if the transmission you have in your vehicle is okay for flat towing up to 10 miles in neutral. Some transmissions require the installation of a lube pump or axle-disconnect to prevent damage.
