Trailer Hitch and Bike Carrier for a 2008 Chrysler Sebring Hard Top Convertible
Question:
I saw a response from Michael H that said to use the hidden hitch class 2 #90166. But on the installation page it says not for convertible sendings. Also what do you think of the draw tite class 1 hitch for my car. I want to attach a swagman bike rack for 2 bikes s64670. Would either of the hitches be easier for my husband to install?

At the time the question you are referring to was answered the hitch # 24871 was listed as a fit for all models of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring. As you have found that has since changed rendering that answer irrelevant so I thank you for finding it and bringing it to my attention.
Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch are sister companies so hitch # 24871 and 60288 (discontinued) which DO fit the convertible are basically identical. They even share the same instructions. The difference is that the Hidden Hitch model used to come with a ball mount and the Draw-Tite model does not. Since you will be using the hitch for a bike carrier I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch # 24871 since there is no reason to pay more for the Hidden Hitch and get a ball mount that you won't need.
On a 2008 Sebring with the Draw-Tite hitch installed it measures 8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole back to clear the rear of the vehicle. Because of this distance you would not be able to use Swagman carrier # S64670 because it also measures 8 inches from the pin hole to the nearest wheel hoop. You will need a carrier that sticks out just a bit further.
The little brother of the Swagman XTC is the XC, # S64650, and it measures 10-1/2 inches from the pin hole back to the nearest wheel hoop. You could also use the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider, # HR200, which sticks out 12-1/2 inches and would probably be the best option. I have included a link to a video review of this carrier and one for the SC for you.
