The Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118242 connects in-line with the main harness and the small harness that goes to the tail light. It is basically a T-connection. You will pull the two factory connectors apart, plug-in the 7-Way harness.
If there is not a mounting bracket for a 7-way connector, you will need to use Mounting Bracket, part # PK12711U.
I have linked a video install of a brake controller that also shows the installation of the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118242.
