When you wire up the Pollak Metal 7-Pole # PK12703 you will want to wire it by function and not by color necessarily.
The red wire you referred is for the left stop/turn circuit. Your truck may not have this color wire for this function so you would need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to determine which wire on your vehicle is for that circuit and then wire it to this connector. Use the diagram I attached as a guide.
