What measurement should I use on a 2005 with a six and ahalf bed to mount the rear rail

When installing the Reese Universal Fifth Wheel Install Kit, # RP30035, on a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 6-1/2ft bed the back edge of the rear base rails should be 25-1/8 inches from the rear edge of the truck bed (see photo). Keep in mind, this means from the edge of the bed floor. It does not include the tailgate. This information can be found on page 5 of the installation instructions. I have linked the instructions for you to check out.

Once that is installed you'll be able to easily install the # RP30051 you were looking at. I've attached a video of installation for you as well that will also offer some additional information.
