How much drilling is required to install this on my 83 c10 longbed?

The Curt Hitch part # 13028 that you referenced is confirmed to fit your 1983 Chevy C-10.
You will need to drill 6 holes to install all of the included mounting bolts for this hitch. Before you drill the holes you should note that the hitch must be positioned so end of receiver tube is flush with back of vehicle.
