How to Find Factory Preset Tension for the Curt Friction Sway Control 17200  

Question:

What is the factory setting? A friend tighten the bolt thinking he was helping me. Can you tell me how many turns out is the factory setting? Thanks

I spoke to my contact at Curt and he informed me that there really isn't a factory preset tension that the # 17200 will have. But in your case for a great starting point you will want to loosen the tension bolt till it no longer makes contact with the unit, now tighten it up right till the unit starts to make contact. From there tighten it two complete revolutions and you will have a great starting point.
