I am confident that you will be much happier with the Strait-Line Hitch. It is a great product that offers the top of the line in trailer sway prevention.
The Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, part # RP66073 is recommended for trailers with tongue weights ranging from 400 to 800 lbs. We typically figure a trailers tongue weight as being 10 to 15 percent of the fully loaded trailer weight, which means that the tongue weight of your trailer when loaded could range from 670 to around 1000 lbs. If the tongue weight of your loaded trailer falls closer to the lower end of that spectrum, around 10 percent of the trailer weight, part # RP66073 would work great for you. If your tongue weight greater than 800 lbs, part # RP66074 would be a better choice. This system works on trailers with tongue weights ranging from 600 to 1200 lbs.
There is an easy method for determining your tongue weight using a bathroom scale and some pipe, I will provide a link below to this information.
Keep in mind that the hitch ball is not included with either system I mentioned above. For a 2 inch ball, use part # A-90 or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 ball.
