Tongue Weight Capacity for Hitch on a 2014 Toyota Prius V

Question:

I have a 2014 Prius V three wagon. The owners manual states that Toyota does not recommend a trailer hitch but since I would not have to drill any holes into my car for the hitch im thinking it would be fine to hold my wheel chair which weight a bit over 100 lbs. So what is the tongue weight of the Draw-Tite hitch. Toyota has nothing written on the recommendations. I have a wheel chair rack. One is for the battery of the wheel chair in the vehicle and the wheel chair folded up in the rack. This was made for my 2001 VW Golf TDI and worked very well in that capacity.

The Draw-Tite part # 24847 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2014 Prius V. It has a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs.

It sounds like this hitch would have enough capacity for what you are trying to carry with it. But we can't safely recommend you go against what Toyota recommends in the owners manual of your vehicle.
