Does Bumper Fascia have to be Cut or Trimmed to Install Trailer Hitch on a 2014 Nissan Versa

You will have to trim the heat shield to install Curt trailer hitch # C11256 on your 2014 Nissan Versa, but not the bumper. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you that show where to trim the heat shield.

If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.

For a bike carrier that fits the bill I recommend the Swagman Trailhead, # S63360. the rise in the shank also helps with ground clearance.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
