Brake Controller and Install Recommendation for 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Question:

I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado with a trailer package. It has a 6 pin and 4 pin connector on the rear bumper. If I install the prodigy P2 controller with the 3015 adapter does there need to be a 7 pin connector on the rear bumper or is the 6 pin wiring that is already in place designed for this. I have read some information about going from a 6 pin to a 7 pin connector.

The trailer wiring you have on your 2015 Chevy Silverado SHOULD be a 7-way. If you are counting the pins of the connector you need to make sure you are counting the center one as well. That we are aware of they only installed 7-ways on the 2015 Silverado.

To install the Prodigy P3 brake controller part # 90195 on your 2015 Chevy Silverado all you would need is the install harness part # 3016. Check out the install video I attached as well.
