Fifth Wheel Hitch and Accessories for 2009 Dodge Ram Short Bed

I just purchased a 27 5th wheel trailer. My tow vehicle is a 2009 Dodge Hemi crew cab w/short bed. What are your recommondarions for the hitch and needed accessories? Thanks

The Reese 16K, part # RP30051 would be a good choice. The Reese model has the benefit of a head that pivots side to side as well as fore and aft. This can help make hitching and unhitching easier on terrain that is not perfectly level. These hitch recommendations assume that your truck has the 6 foot bed.
For your Ram 1500, you would also need the Custom Installation Kit, part # RP50142-58. The brackets on this install kit are specifically designed for your Dodge Ram 1500 and utilize existing holes in the truck frame making installation much easier. If your truck is a 2500 or 3500 model you will need the Reese Quick-Install Custom Bracket Kit, item # RP50140-58, for your truck.
You will also need to supply a 7-way trailer connector to the inside of your truck bed. For a 1500 series, part # PK11893-11932 would plug inline into your existing connector on the bumper and provide a connection for your trailer. For the 2500 and 3500 series, use part # HM42137.
