Factory Brake Controller on 2008 Ford F-550 Does Not Show Power with Brake Pedal Pressed

Question:

2008 F550 with new factory controller. Using test light I get signal when manually activating controller, but nothing when applying brake pedal.

On a lot of proportional brake controllers you will only get power on that output wire when applying the brakes when the vehicle is moving. Since you are likely testing with the truck parked (at least I hope you are!) then that is likely why you are not seeing power with the brake pedal.

I know this is the case with aftermarket brake controllers but on a factory controller I cannot be 100 percent certain. If you continue to have issues then a Ford technician would need to look at it to see if there is a problem.
