I spoke with my contact at Reese, and in addition to the # RP30051, you will need Universal Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit with Rails, # RP30035.
If your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 has overload springs, you will need an additional bracket kit, # RP58186.
The 5th wheel hitch you referenced is a slider and is for a short bed. If you have a long bed, you can use a regular, fixed type 5th wheel, # RP30047, and the same installation kit.
If your truck bed is less than 6 feet long, you will need a Sidewinder with rotating coupler, which installs with a standard 5th wheel and install kit, not a slider. A Sidewinder will give you 22 inches more clearance than a fixed 5th wheel, and up to 12 inches more clearance than a slider. The reason a Sidewinder is needed for a bed less than 6 feet long is that even with a slider, turning is severely limited and the trailer could run into the cab of the truck causing damage to both. I have included a link to an FAQ article on Sidewinders. It includes some important measurements you will need to make in order to determine if a Sidewinder will work on your truck.
I also recommend the Hopkins Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness with 7-Pole, # HM42137. This will allow you to connect a 7-Way from the bed of the truck to the 5th wheel. I have included a video installation of this harness and a demonstration video of the # PS30855 hitch for reference.
