Recommended Brake Controller When Towing Enclosed Trailer With Electric Brakes
Question:
I am considering buying a 24foot enclosed car trailer. I will need an electric brake controller. The trailer will have electric brakes. Which controller would you recommend, the Prodigy 2 or the Primus IQ?

The Primus, part # TK90160 and Prodigy P2, part # 90885 are both nice brake controllers, but there are some differences.
The P2, part # 90885, uses a lever on the underside for a manual override where the Primus uses a slide that some people have said they have problems with the slide sticking depending on how they grip and operate the slide. The P2 has buttons on the face for adjusting settings and navigating through the menus. The Primus IQ uses a dial and one button to adjust settings.
The P2 allows you to mount the controller in a 360-degree vertical plane operating range which gives you much more flexibility than the Primus which has a mounting range of range of 0 degrees to 70 degrees nose up.
For the small amount of price difference and big difference in features I recommend going with the P2.
