Trailer Hitch Availability for 2015 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible

I am planning to purchase a 2015 Beetle Convertible. I have read that VW does not permit hitches for this vehicle. Can you confirm?

We do offer light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I trailer hitches for the 2015 VW Beetle convertible. These are able to handle the load of a 2-bike hitch-mount bike rack or a small cargo carrier. All of the options are shown on the linked page; all are no-drill bolt-on installation and all include the necessary hardware.

It may be that VW does not approve the Beetle for towing, which is certainly a possibility for a small lightweight vehicle, but you can confirm this in the car's owner's manual.
