In order to add wiring and a brake controller to your 2006 Express Van, you will need to do some hardwiring.

If you have no 4-way connector, that is the first thing you will need to add to your van. I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118392. This is an easy installation by just plugging in the T-connector in the rear cargo area. This will give you a 4-way connector at the rear of your van.

You will then need part # ETBC7. this will plug into the 4-way and with additional wiring will give you a 7-way connector for your trailer at the rear of your van. When wiring longer vehicles you may need additional wiring like part # 10-2-1.

The brake controller I recommend is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is so easy to install and operate.

When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.

I have attached some installation videos you can check out.
