2013 Toyota Tundra With Under Dash Port Brake Controller Recommendation

Question:

I have a 2013 Tundra without tow package. I see the brake controller connector under the dash that has the blue brake wire but I dont see it at the back of the truck. Is it stored away somewhere?

Since you have the port under your dash all you would need is the # 3040-P harness and the # 37185. You will plug the # 3040-P into the port under your dash except you will cut the blue wire out of the harness and will run it back with 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 to the blue wire of the # 37185.

The # 37185 will plug into the 4-way of your vehicle and the white wire from the # 3040-P will get grounded and you will be good to go.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
