What Happens to the Heat Shield of 2014 Subaru Forester When Installing a Hitch

2014 Subaru Forestwe XT class 3 Why does the curt require removal of heat shield instead of trimming and do you use a 4th hole to feed the wire on the 2015 draw tite video? The products look similar but very different installs?

Actually Curt says that to install their hitch part # C13144 that you referenced you can either remove or trim the heat shield of your 2014 Subaru Forester.
The same goes for the Draw Tite hitch part # 75876 that you also mentioned.
