How To Determine Correct Bearings, Races, And Seals On Trailer Hub
Question:
I have installed new 1inch hub kits purchased at NAPA and there is too much lateral slopinch on my spindles. What went wrong? I need to use the trailer, but probably cant the way it is. Any ideas?

The best way to make sure you have the right components for your spindles is to remove the bearings race and seal and locate the stamped or imprinted numbers on them. The attached drawing shows where you can normally fine the numbers.
If you do not have the original components, or if you are unable to find the part numbers, you can use a precision instrument like a digital caliper and measure the spindle on the locations noted in the attached drawing to make sure you select the correct components.
I have attached a helpful article about replacing hub components you can check out.
