Do the Tow Hooks of a 2014 Jeep Patriot Need to Be Removed for Hitch Install
Question:
Does this Curt hitch require removal of the tow hooks for installation? I thought I was interested in Draw-Tite, but I see the tow hook must be removed to install. I use my use my tow hook as a rear tie down for a canoe we carry, so I need it to remain in place. Any thoughts on which hitch you would suggest? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The tow hook cannot be re-installed once the hitch is installed on the 2014 Jeep Patriot, but the good news is the hitch can be used in the same purpose as the tow hook if needed.
The safety chain loops can be used as hooks, or you could get the part # TR63044 and install that in the hitch.
I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
