Troubleshooting Right Stop/Turn Circuit Not Functioning on a 2003 GMC Yukon XL 7-Way

Question:

My 7-way trailer plug on my Yukon is giving me fits. Everything works but the right stop/brake terminal. The turn signal for the same terminal is properly working. Any ideas or help?

First place to check is the fuse box of your 2003 GMC Yukon XL. You will want to find the trailer wiring fuses/relays and check to make sure they are all in good shape as most likely the problem is a blown fuse.

Next you will want to check the circuit of the 7-way for corrosion and clean as necessary with a fine grit sandpaper. Most likely the problem is one of those two things.

You can also check the wiring behind the connector to see if you can find any cut or exposed wire and fix as necessary.
