Should a Hopkins Agility Brake Controller Activate without Trailer Connected
Question:
I have a 2010 Toyota Tundra Crewmax, 5.7 engine. I have purchased a Hopkins agility brake controller. I have the factory supplied wiring harness adapter. The brake controller has 4 wires- blue, black, red, white and the wiring harness adapter has 5 wires- red, black with red, green with white, brown, and green. I have connected the wires as directed - controller blue-harness red, controller black-harness black with red, controller red-harness green with white, and controller whit-harness brown. The controller will display when the manual override is pushed but I have a blank display the rest of the time. Can you help?

You definitely have your brake controller wired properly to your 2010 Toyota Tundra Crewmax based on the wires/colors you listed.
Brake controllers aren't supposed to activate with the brake pedal unless a trailer is connected to the wiring. You will want to check if the controller is working with a trailer connected first. Most likely it will work just fine with a trailer. But feel free to email me back if not.
I also attached a help article on troubleshooting brake controller installs for you to check out as well.
