Wiring Brake Controller to a 1999 Dodge Durango with Dodge Wiring Harness

Question:

Thanks for your help. I have a 1999 Dodge Durango with a 4.7 eng, Im trying to wire up a tekonsha Voyager, it has no connector on the pig tail coming out of the controller. The wires from the controller are black/ red/ white/ blue. The plug in harness I bought from the dealer has one blue connector that plugs into a matching Plug under the dash. The wires from the factory connector is blue/ white with A red stripe/ blue with a white stripe/ green with a black strip. Can you tell me The correct wire pattern that I need to connect the two together and is there anything else that has to be done to make this controller work properly.

It sounds like you have the newer OEM Dodge harness for your 1999 Dodge Durango.

On it the green with black stripe is ground and goes to the brake controller white wire.
White with red stripe on the Durango goes to brake controller black for 12 volt power.
The Dodge Blue with white stripe goes to brake controller red for input from the stop light switch. And blue will go to blue for output to the trailer brakes.

If your Durango came with a factory 7-Way trailer connector then you will not need anything else. If a 7-Way was added as an aftermarket part then you would actually need to hardwire in the controller using wiring kit # 5506 and by following the relevant parts of the instructions and video I have linked.
