Edge EZ Programmer for 2004 Dodge Cummins, Difference Between HO and Common Rail Engine

On my truck 2004 dodge cummins 5.9 l the vin there is a letter c n the vin so is my truck the HO ...THANK YOU ps how much horse power do I have stock..

There are two different Cummins diesel engines they put in the 2004 Dodge Rams. There is the high output 5.9 Cummins which would call for the # EP30204 and there is the 24 valve common rail engine that calls for the # EP30203.

If you check the VIN of your truck the eighth digit will be the letter C if your truck has the H.O. Cummins. Also it will say 305 on the ID tag of the truck.

Yep! You have the high output Cummins engine in your truck since your eighth VIN digit is the letter C. You should have 325 horsepower and 600 ft. lbs. torque based on the research I did stock.
