Differences Between the Prodigy P2 and P3 Brake Controller
Question:
I am looking for a brake controller for my F150. Can you tell me what the differences are between the Prodigy P2 and the P3? Also I was not clear on what was included in the pricing for each...can you tell me what the total cost would be for each contorller if I needed one controller, and everything to install it in 2 2007 Ford F150s? So basically 2 wiring harnesses, 2 fuses/relays which I think are required, 2 mounting brackets and 1 controller. Thanks!

Internally the Prodigy P3 # 90195 and the P2 # 90885 the controllers are the same. This means that they will function and perform the exact same.
The primary difference between the two is that the P3 uses what I would call a more user friendly display. Instead of an error code like what's displayed on the P2, the P3 will actually spell out in plain English what the problem is. The P3 also offers 5 preset storable settings that allow you to dial in your preferred settings for up to 5 different trailers. If you'll only be towing one or two trailers, this feature might not be all that important to you.
Both controllers come with mounting brackets. All you would need to install the controller in either truck would be the correct harness, part # 3035-P.
Pricing is at the product links.
