3-Bike Trunk Mount Bike Carrier for a 2005 Mazda 6s with Rear Spoiler

Im looking for a trunk mount 3-bike rack for my 2005 Mazda 6s that has a spoiler. Any suggestions? This Thule Gateway looks like it will work, but will it fit over the spoiler?

The Thule Gateway trunk mount bike carrier # TH78VR is listed as a fit for sedan and wagon models of the 2005 Mazda 6 but is not a fit if you have a hatchback model. From the pictures I saw the spoiler appears to be fairly high and I am not 100 percent confident that the Gateway will be able to reach over that spoiler.

For your Mazda 6, provided it is a sedan or wagon, I recommend the Thule Passage 3, # TH911XT. This sturdy rack has anti-sway and dual adjustable arms to help stabilize your bikes. It has a quick-release hub system with 6 straps that ensures a secure fit. This rack is designed to work with most factory spoilers. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
