How To Find Reverse Light Circuit in a Vehicle for 5-Way Trailer Wiring Install

Question:

installing a 5 way flat on a 2012 Nissan pathfinder. I cant find the reverse light in the back. is there one even located in the back with all the wires?

All vehicles have reverse lights so I can assure you that your 2012 Nissan Pathfinder has a reverse light circuit at the rear of the vehicle. It will just be a matter of tracking the thing down.

I pulled up some picture of your vehicle and thankfully the reverse lights aren't in the hatch assembly as that can make the install a bit more involved. Since yours are in the main taillight assemblies you will need to access the wiring of the assemblies and use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test all of the wiring until you find the wire that only sees 12 volts when the vehicle is put in reverse.
