Will Swagman XC Platform Style Bike Carrier Clear Rear Of 2011 Honda Insight
Question:
Will there be enough clearance to put a bicycle on the inside position on this rack mounted on a 2011 Honda Insight? Im worried about the pedal being too close to the car. Pictures of it on other cars make it appear there is very little clearance, and in some instances, the pedal appears to be in the license plate well.

You can take a quick measurement to see if you will have clearance from the back of your 2011 Honda Insight trailer hitch.
You will need a straight edge like a yardstick or dowel and a tape measure. Hole the straight edge vertically against the back of the bumper on your Insight, making sure the straight edge extends below the hitch. Then measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the straight edge. That is how much clearance you need.
The Swagman Platform Style XC 2-Bike Rack, part # S64650 measures 10-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the closest wheel hoop. This carrier also has a 4 inch shank rise for additional ground clearance. This bike carrier has a weight capacity of 35 lbs per bike and can handle bikes with a wheel base up to 51-1/2 inches.
To secure the bike carrier to the vehicle and deter theft I recommend part # S64029. This is a locking hitch pin that helps reduce wobble.
I have attached a couple of videos you can take a look at.
