Refrigerator Stopped Running off Propane Power but Worked with Electric
Question:
I have a 2000 Jayco Quest 5th wheel. My propane consists of a 2-stage regulator on 7# tanks. On our last trip, the refrigerator propane started acting up and finally stopped working. The gas to the stove works fine which would indicate the current regulator is okay. When we got home, I hooked up the trailer to electric and turned on the refrigerator Dual propane/elect and it worked fine. Before the electric connection I was afraid my refrigerator was going out but that appears to be not the case while using electric. I have noticed that during the last couple of trips, there has been a gas smell around the tanks. Do you think a new regulator is the answer or is the propane to the refrigerator being blocked somehow by a malfunction in the refrigerators propane connection?

It is hard to say but a gas smell would indicate a leak. You can track down a leak by the usual means: using a solution of soapy water to see where air bubble appear.
No bubbles means no leak and in that case it does sound like some debris blocking the line or a valve that is sticking. Replacing the trouble part should solve the issue whether it be a leaking part, blocked part, or stuck valve.
