Will Flexco Manual Pull-Out Steps Fit in Place of Hickory Springs Steps

Question:

I have a 2011 Sandpiper 355 QBQ fifth wheel which currently has a Hickory Springs 3 step. I am looking for a 4 step replacement and was wondering if these steps will fit. A couple of concerns I have are that the housing on these steps is 18 1/2inch tall and the one on my rv is 16. Also, the width on mine is 27 1/2 while this one is 27 1/8. I am not sure if either of these will be an issue.

Going from a 3 step to a 4 step is going to reduce the ground clearance and that could end up being an issue depending on the terrain. The difference is width would seem to be off just enough to where you would not be able to mount the new steps in exactly the same holes as the old steps. Not that drilling new holes is all that difficult but if the more narrow span does not line up with structural metal to handle the weight then it isn't going to work.

If you think you might need an additional step some times you could use something simple like # CAM43676 rated for 1000 pounds or # PA-100 rated for 1,000 pounds.
