How to Install a Prodigy P2 Brake Controller in a 2008 Toyota Tundra
Question:
I purchased a Prodigy brake controller from you years ago for my wifes 2004 Toyota Sequoia. It has worked perfectly for years. I just purchased a 2008 Toyota Tundra and will probably be using it more to tow with than the Sequoia, but still may tow with it from time to time. Im wondering if I can somehow save on purchasing another complete unit and just buy the mounting hardware and wiring adaptor and transfer the unit to the vehicle that will be towing at the time? Also, I notice lately that the display on the unit keeps flashing between NC and C I believe when we are not connected to a trailer. Does this indicate a problem with the unit or short in the wiring?

Helpful Expert Reply:
To install your Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885 in your 2008 Toyota Tundra all you would need is the correct install harness, part # 3040-P and the bracket # P7685.
C stands for connected to trailer and N.C. stands for not connected. If your controller is flashing between those two messages then most likely you have an intermittent connection on your brake output circuit due to corrosion on your trailer connecter. Hit the pins of the connector with some fine grit sandpaper.
