Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2014 Dodge Ram Short Bed with Factory Rail Kit

Question:

Do you happen to have the measurement from the center jaws to the cab 2014 crew cab 6.5ft bed, prep pkg when using the rear most mounting position on the BWRVK3600 fifth wheel hitch? I am purchasing a Cedar Creek Silverback 29RE and trying to determine if I will need a slider.

I can almost guarantee you will need to use a slider hitch to tow a fifth wheel trailer with your short bed 2014 Ram 2500. Basically the king pin would sit directly over the center of the rear axle and the B and W Hitch part # BWRVK3600 can be adjusted back 3 inches so you would need to measure from the center of the rear axle to the cab and then add 3 inches to get the figure you are looking for.

For a slider hitch setup you would want the Reese adapter part # RP30154 first so that you can install a slider hitch in your truck bed and then for the hitch and slider you would want the part # RP30083. This hitch has a round tube slider which will operate smoother than a square tube and uses the best jaw system around to provide excellent king pin contact for a very smooth ride quality that will have minimal movement and noise.
