Installation Procedure and Recommended Brake Controller for 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
Vehicle: 2013, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with factory 4 pin. Need 7 blade connection with electric brake controller, and necessary wiring harness. I have a 4 pin that connects to a vehicle-side 7 pin which my trailer connects to but need the controller and requisite wiring harness. Can you recommend a Tekonsha product? Trailer has dual axle, electric brakes.

I'd recommend you go with a proportional style controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. A proportional controller has an internal sensor that determines how quickly the tow vehicle is braking and will send the appropriate amount of voltage to the trailer brakes so the trailer and tow vehicle stop at the same rate. This leads to safer, more predictable braking action.
To install the controller, you'll need our Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. The kit contains an adapter that will plug into the existing 4-pole trailer connector, converting it into a 7-way. The kit also includes all wire, connectors and circuit breakers needed to complete the installation.
I've linked you to the instructions for the install kit, as well as to an install video showing a different controller being installed on a 2013 Wrangler Unlimited like yours.
