Is Surco Folding Cargo Basket Adapter # 52015 Compatible with Rola and Pro Series Cargo Carriers
Question:
This folding adapter is made for Surco carriers but Id like to know if it will work with the Pro Series Cargo Carrier part # 63153. I need a rear cargo carrier for use with a 2012 FJ Cruiser with the rear mounted spare tire. I prefer a carrier that folds up when not in use, one that has a slight rise for ground clearance and one that will clear the rear spare when folded. Thanks!

The Surco Folding Cargo Basket Adapter # 52015 is only verified to work with the Curt Railed Cargo Carrier # C18150.
Since your FJ Cruiser has a 2-inch Class III hitch you can choose a 2-inch folding carrier from the linked page. Curt folding carrier # C18151 offers 2-inches of rise in the shank.
You will want to measure from your hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the FJ to determine which carriers will provide the clearance necessary to avoid interference with the spare tire. The linked article illustrates.
