Troubleshooting Turn Signals Not Functioning Properly on a 2000 Chevy Silverado

Question:

All the lights on the rear of my pickup work perfectly and all my trailer lights have worked perfectly. Now my right turn/brake trailer light does not work. Ive traced it back to the pickup side of the 7 pin connector and there is no 12v to the dark green wire when the right turn indicator is on. My truck has a tow package with a connector box above and behind the spare tire, could the problem be there? Like I said everything else works perfectly.

Chevy trucks seem to blow trailer wiring fuses pretty easily so that would lead me to believe that the issue you are having is most likely a blown fuse in the fuse box of your truck. Check the legend for towing related fuses and replace as necessary.

You can also try hitting the pin on your 7-way with some fine grit sandpaper just in case the problem is corrosion related.
