Can Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2-Inch Trailer Hitches # RM-061 Be Used for Towing
Question:
After purchasing the Quiet Hitch to reduce the rattle in my hitch, I read here that the RM-061 should not be used for towing trailers. Can you clarify? I plan to use the RM-061 to secure a ball mount to a receiver, then couple a utility trailer to the ball mount. Is this safe? Thanks!

The part you referenced, Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2-Inch Trailer Hitches # RM-061, is indeed intended for use with tow bars that are pulling a rolling vehicle. It can also be used to secure an accessory item such as a bike rack, but NOT when pulling a trailer.
A better option is Malone No-Rattle Trailer Hitch Wedge # MPG908. This cost-effective anti-rattle device can be used when towing and it fits both 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch size receivers. Please refer to the linked videos for more information.
