Will an Old Yakima RocketBox Fit a 2012 GMC Yukon Denali with Factory Roof Rack

Hi, I have an older white rocket box. I know that it uses the u shaped brackets, but they dont work with my 2012 yukon denali, so my question is what are my options? Can I use the newer brackets to mount it or do I need to replace the bars on the yukon to fit the brackets I have?

You would not be able to use the newer mounting hardware on your older Yakima RocketBox. You would have to modify the box so much that it would compromise the structural integrity of the box making it unsafe for use.

The remaining option is to use a new box since there are no roof racks confirmed to fit your 2012 GMC Yukon Denali since it has a factory roof rack.

Or, you could use a roof mounted cargo bag such as # RL100S30 which is going to cost less than a new box or roof rack and it boasts 18 cubic feet of space. I also recommend protective pad # RL100650 and tire step # HE4040.

Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual and or GM for the roof weight carrying capacity prior to loading.
