How to Measure to Pick Out New Axle for a Harbour Freight Trailer

I have a Harbour Freight foldable trailer built from kit Harbour Freight Kit 90154. It has served me well, but after putting several thousand miles on it, I feel like it is time to replace bearings and such. I am thinking now would be a good time to also upgrade the axles and hubs. I was looking at your axle part T20BTR-6048 and hubs 8-91-05UC1 for this. My only question is..the existing axle has an alignment pin on the top that fits into the U-bolt plate similar to your part APUBR-10. I do not see a similar pin on the axles you sell or am I just not noticing it on the images? Maybe it isnt even necessary? At any ratesome guidance on what I need for upgrading would be awesome. Maybe you guys have a pre-solved solution you can recomend for upgrading these? Thanks!

To pick out a replacement axle for you trailer you will need to take a couple measurements. You want to get one that matches your current axle so that you will know that it is compatible. You need to measure the distance between the spring seats on your axle and then measure from the hub face to hub face.

The part # T20BTR-6048 that you referenced has a distance of 48 inches between the spring seats and a distance of 60 inches between the hub faces. If those dimension match your current axle this would work well for you. If you need different dimensions you will need to check with a local trailer supply shop in your area that can order in custom axles.

If you check out the picture I attached you will see the spring seat of the axle, this is to line up the leaf spring on the axle. The hole in the middle of the perch does this. Its the same type of thing that the # APUBR-10 has. A hole for the axle and the mounting plate to line up the leaf spring.
