Where Do License Plate Light Wires Install with Westin Diamond Step Bumper on a 2003 Dodge Dakota
Question:
I purchased a diamondstep bumper for my 2003 Dakota. It came with two plate lights, two wires for each light. The instructions show only one wire from each light being connected to the vehicle plate light wire. The kit includes two splicers. What do I do with the other wire from the light?

Expert Reply:
Like you said, one of the wires for each light on the bumper is for actual power to the lights. Tap into a running light circuit wire at the tail lights if there isn't already a power wire present from the old bumper.
The other wires are ground wires and you will need to attach them to clean bare metal surfaces.
