Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2012 Toyota Prius V
Question:
I am interested in the trailor hitch for a 2012 Prius V to both utilize a bike rack as well as occasionally tow a small utility trailor with light loads. I read in the Prius manual that Toyota does not recommend towing or using bike racks for this vehicle. Should I be concerned? Have you had any reported issues from people who have installed a hitch and wire harness on a Prius? Thanks.

While we do sell hitches confirmed to fit your 2012 Toyota Prius V like the Draw Tite part # 24847, we can't recommend you ignore the owners manual of your vehicle and tow with the vehicle as that would void the warranty and could potentially damage the vehicle.
We have had several customers buy this hitch and use it to carry bike racks and I am sure some have even towed a very light trailer with it yet we have yet to hear back about any issues caused by doing so.
I attached a demo video for the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670 being used on a very similar Prius as yours.
