Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with Large Spare Tire
Question:
I am looking to get a hitch mounted bike rack for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. It has a slightly larger than stock spare. Finding a hitch mounted bike rack has proven rather difficult to clear the spare. I currently have a Pro Series 63153 cargo carrier that works well with the Jeep. I seen that you have the Bike Rack Adapter for Stromberg Carlson Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier. Will that kit work with my cargo carrier? Do you think that I could put 3 bikes on the carrier instead of just 2?

To determine what bike racks would clear your large rear spare on your 2013 Jeep Wrangler you will need to take one simple measurement. You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your vehicle out to the furthest point out on the spare. I attached a help article that details how to do this as well.
The Pro Series Carrier part # 63153 that you have has a distance of 12-3/4 inches from the pin hole to the nearest edge of the rail. For a bike rack with a similar distance here you would want the Thule Hitching Post part # TH934XTR which has 13-1/2 inches from the pin hole to the back of the upright mast of the rack.
